Mother of a Loss

You know its coming. Everyone must face it. No one can prepare you for the impact. It’s like a hot cup of coco going cold, like a sun burning out. The warmth, understand and nurturing will never be had again.

She swooped in just at the right moment to save the day. She picked you up when you fell. She kissed your owies and made them better.

In her house around every corner there is a memory. With every item there is a memory. The way the house is organized invokes memories. How the sign sits outside the front day. There is a presence missing. You’re expecting her to come walking around the corner asking who wants a slice of pie. There is an urge to call her number, maybe she will answer.
